Amongst the 'In Conversation with ...' events running at the Edinburgh fringe this August, an hour with Martin Jacques.
Martin Jacques has a solid and solidly-grounded reputation as a well-informed commentator on Chinese politics and the issues raised by the country's increasing importance in the world economy. His book When China Rules the World, first published in 2009, was updated in 2012 and 2016, has been translated into seventeen languages, and has sold over 400,000 copies.
Back in the 1980s, he was celebrated as the innovative editor of Marxism Today. Jacques will be in conversation with Calum Baird at the Stand Club in Edinburgh on Tuesday 6 August - a lunchtime session, beginning at 12 noon. For tickets and more details, click here.
